Fears of Massive Evacuation Opposition
Protests and road blocking during the planned evacuation of Jews from their homes could
torpedo the government program, according to estimates of senior military officials. One
official admitted that the defense establishment has underestimated the intensity and
numbers of the opposition to the plan. He added that the protestors could "shut down the
country" during the evacuation scheduled for mid-August. It will take at least three
weeks, without taking into account massive protests that could disturb maneuvers and
require deploying part of the evacuating police force to other parts of the country.
Netanyahu Warns Against PA Terror State, Leaving Jordan Valley
Finance Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has joined outgoing army Chief of Staff Lt. Gen.
Moshe Ya'alon in warning of the creation of a terror state in Palestinian Authority
(PA)-controlled areas. While touring the Jordan Valley region Thursday the senior cabinet
minister warned that, as Israel's target date for withdrawal from Gaza and northern
Samaria grows closer, terror organizations are becoming increasingly stronger.
Netanyahu also said that PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas is not taking any serious steps to
root out the terrorist infrastructure, disarm terrorists or bring an end to the current
state of anarchy in PA-controlled areas. The former prime minister, who is expected to try
to once again gain control of the Likud party after Sharon, also said the Jordan Valley
would never be included in any Israeli withdrawals. "The Jordan Valley will stay under
Israel's control forever," Netanyahu said. "It is the eastern defensive shield of
Israel.... We will not return to the '67 borders, which were indefensible."
Some disconcerted residents noted that Prime Minister Ariel Sharon made similar
comments about Jewish communities in Gaza during his last election campaign only to turn
around once he took office and order their removal. "In every aspect which is under my
authority, I will give as much help as I can toward developing the Jordan Valley,"
Netanyahu assured Jordan Valley residents.
Asked if building in the Jordan Valley would not inflame the world against Israel, the
Finance Minister answered: "We don't need to worry about 'what will the world say' - we
must do what is good for us, for the State of Israel. Like Gush Etzion [south of Jerusalem
-ed.] and other areas, the Jordan Valley is important to the State of Israel. The moment
we delineate the area of the Palestinian Authority, the Jordan Valley will be our eastern
Israel Releases Nearly 400 Palestinian Prisoners
By Sonja Pace (VOA-Jerusalem) & IsraelNationalNews.com
Israel has released nearly 400 Palestinian prisoners, just three weeks before a
scheduled summit between Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and President Mahmoud Abbas.
The prisoners began boarding buses for the ride to various drop-off points and their
return home to Gaza or the West Bank. They were greeted by cheering relatives as they
stepped off the buses. Some of the prisoners kissed the ground, while others waved
The release has been a long time in coming. According to the overall cease-fire
agreement struck between. Sharon and Abbas at their February summit in Egypt, Israel
agreed to release 900 Palestinian prisoners. Five hundred were released shortly after the
summit, but numerous delays kept the rest from being set free. Israel holds about 8,000
Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said the release comes at a time of calm.
Olmert told Israel's Army Radio the release is to send a sign of support for the
Palestinian Authority. The release comes three weeks before another summit between. Sharon
and Abbas. Senior Sharon aide Dov Weissglass and Palestinian chief negotiator Saeb Erekat
have worked out their meeting, scheduled for June 21.
Israel's release o the 400 Arab terrorists and prisoners was "propaganda", according to
the Palestinian Authority official news site. It accused Israel of having delayed the
release "under the pretext of not receiving enough guarantees" by the PA. The PA news
agency also complained that Israel freed the prisoners without allowing the PA to
determine the conditions for freeing them.
Angered Husband Burns the Family Cash
In an agitated state, Yitzhak Perry telephoned the police emergency dispatcher on
Wednesday reporting, "I burned the money! I burned the belongings! Come quickly!"
Police and firefighters rushed to the exclusive Rehovot neighborhood to find Perry was
indeed telling the truth. Angered at his wife, he had taken their cash, amounting to NIS 3
million ($697,000), and set it ablaze. Firefighters who responded to the smoke in the home
described the scene as surreal. "A man actually set an enormous amount of cash on fire
because he was angry at his wife," they exclaimed in a startled state.
Police explain they are more than a bit curious as to the source of the sizable stash.
Undoubtedly, Internal Revenue Service officials will have some questions for the irate
Perry as well. Police add that Section 466 of the penal code makes destroying money a
crime and Perry may face three months in prison for his actions. That, in addition to a
sizable dose of remorse and a, now, very angry wife.
George Bush, How Could You?
By Emanuel A. Winston (Commentary)
We all thought you had cut any ideological ties to the policies of your father and
James Baker. We bought the story that you had emerged from your years of adolescence where
alcohol and drugs were left behind in new life enveloped in the idea of a born-again
We were touched to hear that you had the Five Books of Moses on your reading shelf. You
had us all fooled with your Born-Again persona but, we didn't know what your were
Born-Again into. We are just beginning to know that behind that affable grin and your good
ole boy Texas persona is an oil consortium.
We knew that your father and James Baker were (and are) dedicated anti-Semites, bonded
to whatever Crown Prince Abdullah wanted.
But again, we thought you had broken away from their anti-Israel policy. We also
thought that your German bloodlines through your father and grandfather Prescott Bush was
something you wished to get away from. When your father told America to get ready for the
"New World Order" it echoed the superior Germany of the '30s and '40s.
Are you now the carrier of the banner for your father's cabal of a "New World Order"
consistent with finishing Hitler's "Final Solution for the Jewish Question"? That era of
Germany and the Third Reich also had their "New World Order" which included eliminating
However, must you now try to eliminate a Jewish State that is well armed - even having
a probable Nuclear Deterrence? Clearly, that requires new techniques and most certainly
recruiting Jewish leaders to participate - hopefully unknowingly - into their own
Mr. Bush, it seems that you have adopted a course of diminishing the Jewish State while
being the godfathers of what may be the most effective Islamic Terrorist State that region
have ever known. How could you, an American president, continue the work of the Grand
Mufti of Jerusalem, Amin Al Husseini, who pleaded with Hitler to kill off all the Jews and
bring his killing machine to Palestine to finish the Jews there and give him control of
You knew that the American people and the Congress approved and supported Israel. So
you moved cautiously always keeping up the facade of being Israel's friend, always
expressing concern for her safety when in fact you were carrying water for the Saudis. As
of late, however, you are moving from under your friendly cover and reflecting your
family's tradition 'vis a vis' the Jews and, of course, the oil-rich Arab Muslims.
So now what exactly do you expect to get out of chaining Israel's Prime Minister Ariel
Sharon to your plans of bringing Israel to the first U.N. Partition Plan of November 1947
which Abba Eban called "Auschwitz Borders". We are already aware that you have a
three-phase action: First, to evacuate the Jews of Gaza, followed by the evacuation of the
Jews from Judea and Samaria, then to move the Jews to the 1948 borders. Presumably, this
will all be coordinated with the Arab League, the E.U., and I suppose what should be
called "The New World Orderists."
Naturally, you will next unleash Jewish recruits generally called Leftists, to begin
speaking about how Israel doesn't really need the Golan Heights. The rationale offered
would be that the Golan Heights would be better off in American hands as a military base.
Naturally, this base would be presented as a protective base for Israel and Israel would
no longer need tanks, missiles and observation positions on Mt. Hermon.
I guess the question of "How Could You?" seems beside the point when we see you join
the Europeans in a "If you can't beat them, join them" doctrine. I refer to your new
philosophy of dealing with the terrorists as negotiating partners and not adversaries.
Clearly, you and Tony Blair are collapsing like falling buildings (sad analogy) as the
global Muslim terrorists become more aggressive. They're pouring into Iraq, bombing tens
of Americans and Iraqis daily.
Of course, there is always the oil deception and your studied reluctance to find and
explore alternative energy sources so we stop using up all the fossil fuels while
polluting the universe. Simply speaking for the oil maggots, you tell us in speeches that
the price will go down which you know it will not. Wasn't it bad enough to falsify your
credentials as a caring Born-Again Christian but, to blatantly lie to the American people
about how it will be necessary to pollute Alaska, the Florida and California coastlines,
the Gulf of Mexico so that you and your father's oil maggots could keep the cash register
Finally, to join forces with a primitive and barbaric people of Islam to destroy the
Jewish State of Israel is totally obscene and unforgivable. Do you really believe that
when you meet that Jewish man, Yousha Ben David (you call him Jesus) that he will accept
the destruction of his people as sanctifying your passport to the Heaven you believe is
rightly yours? Don't you think it more likely that the Bush Dynasty will find itself in a
lower place - where all the other haters of the Jewish people are spending eternity - that
is Gehenna (Hell)?
So tell us George, did you think you and your clan were anointed by lesser gods to
reverse God's decision to gift the Land of Israel to the Jewish people in perpetuity? Do
you believe that you were anointed to gift the Land of Israel to a heathen people who
worship the moon god zin - later called Allah? Have you bonded in some way with Islam to
challenge God's Eternal decision to make His Covenant with the Hebrew tribes and thus all
Jewish people? Is this what you think your mission on earth as President is: to correct
If you think God makes mistakes, then regrettably, your actions, unchecked (so far) by
the Congress or rejected by the American people will, no doubt, bring terrible
consequences to our American Continent and that of Europe? It's coming Mr.
President...sure as Hell.

Checkbook Zionism Goes Plastic
By Israel News Faxx Services
Americans will soon be able to support Israel and earn points toward their next
vacation here with every swipe of their credit card. The Heritage Affinity Card, as it
will be known, will be available across the U.S. in the coming months and is the first
business venture of its kind aimed at tapping into American credit card spending in order
to channel money into dozens of Israeli and Jewish charities.
The project, an initiative of two young entrepreneurs who immigrated to Israel from
North America as teenagers, is both ambitious and large in scope. At least 2 million
American will be targeted to sign up for the card, including Jews of all denominations and
evangelicals who have supported pro-Israel initiatives in the past.
"People want to feel a connection to Israel, so why not provide an option for them to
feel pride about the Zionist dream with every dollar they spend," Zev Dobuler,
co-president of Heritage Affinity Services (HAS), said this week in a telephone interview
from his New York office, where he has recently relocated since launching the project.
HAS, which was founded by Dobuler and his co-partner Menachem Landau, is a company with
a vision. The credit card essentially gets people thinking about Israel every time they
pull out their card at the grocery store or local mall - a fulfillment, the card's
founders say, of an ideological dream.
"There are six million Jews in America who go about their daily spending, shop at the
supermarket and buy Nike shoes without helping the Israeli economy," says Dobuler. "With
our card, the slightest percentage can be diverted to Israel."
Neither Dobuler nor Landau are willing to disclose the name of the affiliated credit
company, but promise that the Heritage Card, as it will be known in short, is going to be
issued by "a major credit card association," which limits the possibilities to Visa,
MasterCard, American Express or Discover Card. Both say, that by the fall availability
date, sometime around the high holidays, the credit card company name will be made
The Heritage Card is a hybrid between an affinity program and a reward program, which
essentially means that users both donate money to charity and accrue points with every
dollar they spend. Users decide which charities to support out of dozens of participating
organizations that include non-profits such as Israeli soup kitchens, hospitals and terror
victim support groups. A small percentage - the founders won't say how much - from the fee
that the bank charges merchants for every transaction will then be donated to the
On the less altruistic side, every dollar spent on the Heritage Card earns the user one
point - which accumulated can go toward airline tickets on El Al or Israir, hotel nights
at the Dan or Sheraton hotel chains in Israel, or local Avis and Budget rental cars for
the vacationing tourist. Cardholders also get discounts and double points at select
hotels, restaurants and Israeli tourist attractions.
"Every swipe of the credit card encourages people to come to Israel," Landau explains,
as he rattles off statistics about the importance of tourism to the Israeli job market.
"We don't offer a flight to Florida on Delta as one of our rewards, because it's important
to us that people to go to Israel and spend their money there."
The Heritage Card has been in the making for more than three years. Dobuler and Landau,
who met as teenagers in a youth group for English-speaking immigrants in Jerusalem,
developed the idea in Israel, but moved to the U.S. to do market research and raise
capital from a number of American investors. The company has a multi-million dollar
budget, and by the time it is launched later this year, will employ an in-house staff of
more than 20. They'll also outsource to a public relations firm, as well as an
Israel-based customer service call center.
When they developed the idea, both Doubler and Landau were studying and working in
high-tech, and within two weeks "dropped everything" and moved to New York to pursue what
they describe as "a full time job for the rest of our lives." They are hesitant to provide
their exact age ("people use age against you," says Landau), although they admit to be in
their late 20s. Neither has even the slightest doubt that their project will succeed.
"What we've created has been done before, but never in the Jewish realm," Landau says
of the initiative. "In the past, there have been credit cards for individual Jewish
charities, but there hasn't been one credit card to bring such a large number of Jewish
charities under one umbrella."
"I think the card has real potential, provided it is offering something real in
return," says Sylvia Barack Fishman, associate professor of Contemporary Jewish Life at
Brandeis University and an expert on the sociology of American Jewry. "That segment of the
American Jewish community that is committed to Israel includes a subset that travels to
Israel often and tries to buy Israeli goods in the U.S/ and over the Internet, as well as
when they travel."
But Fishman adds, that the target audience of this card is a generally "savvy" group.
"They know what flights cost and what gifts cost. If they subscribe to these cards and
then discover that they don't have access to good deals on tickets, they'll go right back
to their regular credit cards."
Landau and Dobuler don't seem too worried, and stand behind the benefits that their
card offers. Card holders who support Israel but don't necessarily want to travel there,
they note, can redeem their points in other ways, including the purchase of religious
items such as menorahs, holy water or pictures of the Sea of Galilee. Some more standard
prizes like lawn furniture or MP3 players will also be made available for the less
In the meantime, the Heritage Card has developed appropriate card designs as well,
which include the Western Wall, the Old City of Jerusalem at night, and an American and
Israeli flag overlapping. Those uncomfortable with advertising their political affiliation
with every purchase can also have a "platinum design" which is more discreet.
"If a person is at a supermarket, takes out his credit card and sees a picture of the
Western Wall, that's just one more way for them to feel a connection to Israel," adds
Landau. "And that's what our company is about."
