PLO Authority culture and arts official Yassir Abed Rabbo says the works of prominent Israeli writers and poets would be taught in the PA's high schools and universities. Abed Rabbo said that the decision contrasts with the recent criticism in Israel of Minister of Education Yossi Sarid following his decision to include the work of Arab nationalist poet Mahmoud Darwish in the curriculum of Israeli high schools.

The 2,300 year-old royal Jewish heroes come to life in this year's new megasite -- http://www.VirtualPurim.com -- unveiled at the Chabad-Lubavitch World Headquarters for the upcoming Jewish holiday of Purim (March 20-21).
Children of all ages will enjoy everything from games to recipes to prayers to stories on "A Virtual Purim," the world's most comprehensive Purim website. The site gives detailed instructions on how to celebrate, give, say, pray, listen, learn and eat on the holiday, plus actual meal menu suggestions and lots of fun and games.
Contestants across the globe will compete for prizes in the world's largest on-line Costume Contest and students young and old will try their hand at games ranging from Hang the Haman to a word search, shuffle, concentration and more. Rhyming characters will readily recount the Purim miracle for kids who find it easier to learn in verse than from a book.
The study area serves enough in-depth learning to keep a team of scholars occupied for weeks. Hundreds of pages of essays and insights, divided by category and learning level, afford beginner and scholar a smorgasbord of Purim food for thought.
And to assure plenty of mysterious discovery, at any time one can call up a random Did-You-Know? Tidbit and learn things like "Haman was hanged on the third day of Passover," or "'Esther' is a Persian name," and "Haman's decree [to annihilate the Jewish people] was never revoked."
The recipe section is a one-stop treasure trove of delicious hamantashen, kreplach, challah, fish, chicken soup, pickled tongue, casseroles, pesce al cartoccio, and more Purim dishes.
In the audio section one can choose from a full selection of holiday songs, the entire Purim story recounted by actors, and a taste of the real Megillah (Book of Esther), the biblical book that tells the miraculous holiday story as it's recited from the parchment scroll.
A story section, Ask-the-Rabbi feature and the full biblical account of the holiday (along with commentary) are but a few more of the vast resources packed into this megasite that drives home the real story of Mordechai and Esther, and the lessons it holds for today's entire family, both young and old, well-informed and uninitiated, 2,355 years later.
Purim (lit. "lots," as in lottery) is the celebration of the salvation of the Jewish people 2,355 years ago from Haman's plot "to destroy, kill and annihilate all the Jews, young and old, infants and women, in a single day" (the exact date of which he determined by throwing a lottery). It is observed by public readings of the "Scroll of Esther," sending gifts of food to friends, giving gifts of money to the poor, and enjoying a festive meal accompanied with joyous drink.
The last 50 years witnessed a revival in the observance of the Purim holiday to the point that today it is widespread and crosses all communal lines.

The URL is http://www.israelnetz.org. KEP, originally a non-profit Media Agency with a Christian background, runs a Jerusalem based Israeli bureau with a correspondent for both secular and Christian newspapers in Germany.
