The Zionist Organization of America urges Secretary of State
Madeleine Albright - who is meeting in Washington with PA official
Abu Mazen - to pressure Palestinian Authority official Abu Mazen to
publicly retract his claim that the Nazis did not murder six
million Jews.
Abu Mazen, whose real name is Mahmoud Abbas, is the author of a
book, "The Other Side: The Secret Relationship Between Nazism and
the Zionist Movement," which argues that the Nazis may have
really killed less than 1 million Jews and that "the Zionist
movement was a partner in the slaughter of the Jews."

The Zionist Organization of America is considering calling for a
worldwide Jewish boycott against Burger King, to protest its
surrender to Arab threats and the closure of its branch in Ma'aleh
Adumim.
Many have already called for Israelis to boycott Burger King
branches in Israel. Abe Foxman of the B'nai B'rith Anti-Defamation
League said that he will act to have Congress strengthen the
legislation against cooperating with the Arab boycott against
Israel. "If we succeeded in having Coca-Cola and Pepsi rescind
their decisions to boycott Israel, we can do the same with Burger
King."
Ma'aleh Adumim Mayor Benny Kashriel said that he does not accept
Burger King's statement that the closure was purely a commercial
decision, and will call upon "Christian and Jewish friends
around the world to fight this development."

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak says he is hopeful a deal will be
struck within days to transfer more territory in the West Bank to
Palestinian self-rule. Senior Palestinian negotiators are
expressing similar optimism.
The prime minister issued a statement Sunday saying there is a
chance that an agreement between Israel and the Palestinians will
be signed this week. If so, Barak said Secretary of State Madeleine
Albright, who will be touring the Middle East, would attend a
ceremony to seal the deal Thursday in Egypt.
Such an occasion would mark the end of nearly a year of haggling
between Israel and the Palestinian Authority over how the U-S
brokered Wye-River accord should be implemented.
Palestinian negotiator Mohammad Dahlan says he is also hopeful a
deal on the implementation of the next transfer of territory under
the accord can be reached within days. The Wye River accord calls
for an additional 13 percent of the West Bank to be transferred to
the Palestinians.
Dahlan says the only stumbling block is how many Palestinian
security prisoners are to be freed from Israeli jails. The
Palestinians want 650-prisoners released; Israel is willing to free
less than 500.
Israel also refuses to release any Palestinians who have been
convicted of violent acts against Israelis, saying all those with
"Jewish blood on their hands" should remain behind bars.
But the Palestinians argue that all those prisoners who committed
such crimes before 1993 and the start of the Oslo peace process
should be freed.

Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi has been quoted as calling for a new country in "Palestine" for Arabs and Jews to share with one another. He rejected the ongoing Oslo process between Israel and the PLO Authority, calling it surrender. The Libyan leader made his statements in an interview with the London-based Al-Hayat.
Gaddafi stated that 7 million Arabs should return to the new
country, their home, and new elections should be conducted under
the supervision of the United Nations. These steps, he said, were
necessary prerequisites if Israel hoped for normalized relations
with Libya in the future.

A sign of the times: among the "proper" booths in the "Man and his
World" exhibit in the Tel Aviv Convention Center selling furniture
and housewares, is a booth selling "Buzz" - touted as a legal
substitute for marijuana.
The booth is designed as an Indian tepee, and the Buzz salespeople
invite passersby to sample a smoke of Buzz, which just recently
began being imported.
Buzz smokers report fuzzy senses and increased sexual desire
similar to the effects of marijuana. Buzz' promoters sent Buzz
samples to the police laboratory, which found that Buzz contains no
illegal drugs, which means that it is legal.
Buzz is made from carnations, passion flowers, mint and other plants
and is focusing at people who would like to smoke marijuana, but
don't because it is illegal.
